Symptoms of Fear and Anxiety in Cats
How do you know if your cat is afraid ? Your can easily tell that your cat is afraid by showing or displaying the following behaviors:
- Running away
- Hiding
- Aggression (which includes spitting, hissing, growling, swatting, biting, scratching, puffing fur and tail, arching back, swishing tail and flattening ears)
- Excessive vocalization such unusual amounts of crying, meowing or yowling
- Freezing in place
- Losing control of bladder/bowels
- Refusing to use the litter box
- Dilated pupils by contracted black pupils during daytime
